I tend not to think that the world of children’s writers is highly crowded, but in my sleepy small town south of Ann Arbor of 8,000 people, there are not one but two YA/MG authors with books debuting this year. Â And another YA/MG author altogether who just got an agent and will hopefully be selling her book Real Soon Now.
I mean, 3 kids’ authors in Ann Arbor would make total sense. Â There’ s a population density to support it. Â But 3 kids’ authors in Saline? Â A mystery!
I will tell you all about Amity sometime later, perhaps when she gets an offer on her book, or perhaps when I just can’t restrain myself any longer… Â But in the meantime, Â Carrie Harris, the first Saline writer I mentioned, has already seen the launch of her book!
It’s called Bad Taste in Boys and it’s about zombies.
I have been a bad neighbor and have not yet read the book, but Carrie is having a signing in Ann Arbor tomorrow (at Nicola’s Books if you’re local), and I totally plan to get in there, get a book, get it signed, and you know, actually meet her! Â And spend the car ride home from the lake the next day actually reading said book.
If nothing else, I have to find out what the sugar lips on the cover meaaaan.
